Here is the scoresheet from Laingsburg:

This is the formula - play around with height and weight to see how the Structural Efficiency changes. Shorter is stronger, taller is more points, but your bracing effectively shortens your spans....

Note: Bending the balsa wood DID NOT WORK. I tried with various densities, and none worked, the fibers started snapping even if I bent it slowly.

HOW TO MAKE DIAGONAL BRACING THAT FITS -

Progress:
  1. A tower was built in Grandville using a provided design (good process techniques were learned!)
  2. The team found a couple of websites for bridge designing - Time to Play!

    http://www.learn4good.com/games/simulation/build_bridge_across_canyon.htm,

  3. The team is working on some new designs
  4. Emily is building another tower over Thanksgiving. if you'd like to get your hands on some balsa and build a tower as well, please take the initiative and go talk to her. She will give you some directions, measurements, and send you on your way. (No, she will NOT yell at you)
